What happens when you choose a file
The checker reads the selected file in a local browser worker. It does not upload photos or detected metadata, use a remote parser or keep a photo history. Photos and detected metadata are not written to cookies, local storage or IndexedDB. Optional website analytics is separate from photo processing.
Reports you choose to save
PNG and JSON reports are generated locally and saved only when you request them. They exclude GPS, serial numbers, filenames and capture times. Other displayed camera and shooting details may be included. Anyone you give a report to can read its contents; review it before sharing.
Clearing a result
Clear result releases the app’s references to the selected photo and result. Closing the page ends this session. This does not delete the original file, downloads you saved or promise immediate forensic erasure from physical memory.
Opening pages and source links
Loading a hosted page necessarily makes a page request to its host, which can receive an IP address, browser information and the requested URL. That is separate from processing a photo. Optional analytics, described below, can make additional requests after consent. Cloudflare delivers the hosted site and processes connection and request information to serve and protect it. Application request logging is disabled in our Worker. Links to external sample sources open the source website only when you follow them; those sites have their own policies.
Optional website analytics
On the live site, you can allow or reject Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Google Analytics measures visits; Clarity measures page interactions and can replay permitted page content. These services can receive browser and device information, IP addresses, page addresses and interaction data, and use analytics cookies after you agree. Advertising consent is denied.
The photo-checking area, live announcements and camera lookup are masked for Clarity. Starting a photo read stops Clarity recording and disables Google Analytics for the rest of that page visit. We do not send photos, filenames, camera readings or other detection metadata as analytics events. Queries and fragments are omitted from the Google Analytics page address.
No analytics scripts load before you allow them. Your choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change it. Rejecting after previously allowing reloads the page to unload tracking scripts and clears this site's analytics cookies; it does not erase data already received by the providers. Local review builds do not run analytics.
