How to check this camera
- Take a fresh photo and copy the ARW file directly from your camera card.
- Choose it in the checker. The camera is detected automatically; no brand selection is required.
- Read the field label and any limitations alongside the number. Save a report only if you want a local copy.
What the number means
The a6000 reader decodes the Sony ShutterCount field. It does not infer a count from an image number, filename or the number of files on a card.
One public ARW file has been compared with ExifTool. This is a useful sample check, not validation of every a6000, firmware version or camera JPEG.

If no count appears
Use an ARW copied from your memory card. Renaming a JPEG to .ARW or converting a file to DNG cannot restore missing Sony MakerNotes.
Will any a6000 JPEG work?
This guide’s original-file evidence is for ARW. It does not establish that every camera JPEG is readable. Try an original JPEG if that is all you have; an edited export or a renamed file cannot supply missing metadata.
Why does my result say ILCE-6000?
ILCE-6000 is the model name recorded by the a6000. It does not indicate that a different camera was detected.
