Try these steps

  1. Use the original from your camera card. A social-media download, screenshot or edited export may have lost MakerNotes.
  2. Check your exact model and the file formats with recorded sample checks. Supporting a brand does not mean every model works.
  3. Try a fresh original in a format listed for that model. Converting or renaming the same file will not restore data that is missing.
  4. If that still produces no count, keep the result as unknown. A different reader or an appropriate service or USB tool may be needed for that camera.

What the message means

No readable count
The file was read, but it did not provide a count the current reader can use. Other available photo details may still appear.
MakerNotes missing
The camera-specific metadata needed for the reading is absent. Try a direct copy from the card.
Unsupported layout
Metadata exists, but its layout is not implemented. This is a reader limitation, not a broken camera.
File could not be read
The file may be incomplete, too large or unsupported. Use one original under 256 MiB.

When to stop retrying

If the same untouched original returns the same result, repeated selection will not reveal another number. The camera may not store the field in that format, or the reader may need another implementation. Neither explanation is evidence that the camera has zero actuations.
